Surviving Freshman College Move-In Day

Image
Move in, the day you've been talking up for months has finally arrived! I moved in this past week and let me tell you it was an experience...in a good way I promise. Let me tell you a little bit about my college move in day. We pulled up to my dorm and had to search for a parking spot, which was a journey in itself. Once we found a parking spot we started hauling things up to my room which wasn't all that bad considering how much stuff I brought. Not going to lie our room was a bit smaller than we expected but we were determined to make it work. My roommates Dad and my Dad were kind enough to move the furniture around how we wanted so we could maximize what little space we had. After the furniture was situated we began the process of moving things into the room. We started organizing things and decorating, which I was very excited about. It definitely took longer than I expected but we did it all pretty fast. After hours of work we finally finished our tiny house! We took a loo...

Photography/ How I edit my photos

Image
When I was in sixth grade I took my first art class. I specifically fell in love with the photography side of the art spectrum. My sweet Grandma gave me my very first camera when I was probably thirteen or fourteen years old so I could run around and take pictures of ransom things. It wasn't anything fancy but I loved it and took pictures of everything. Somehow I actually seemed to be getting kind of good at this whole photography thing. Fast forward to my sophomore year of high school, I decided to take a a photography class. I learned a lot in this class and I think it gave me a lot of really great tips to step up my photography. My family noticed my photography and I started doing shoots. I took some family photos and started doing photoshoots with friends. I even took photos of our house when we were moving. Moving on to a few years later I fell in love with the editing process as well. So long story short I wanted to share a few of the tips and tricks I've learned througho...

Hey guys! I have been traveling a lot lately and haven't been able to post. But I'm back! As I go off to college in less than a month (first of all how did that happen so fast) I wanted to put together a college bucket list. Journaling

I feel like journaling is one of those things that you see on pinterest and it looks super aesthetic so you go try it and it just ends badly. Or you try to take up journaling as a new years resolution and you do it for like three days and then never again. On my sixteenth birthday I decided that I was going to try to journal everyday of being 16, that's a full year people! We're talking a full three hundred and sixty five days here! Honestly don't know what got in to me because it was way more of a commitment than I thought, but I was determined to tackle my goal. I set an alarm to go off every night at 10:15pm for me to sit down and journal before I went to bed. The idea was to use the alarm start the habit in my brain to journal everyday because, it takes roughly 30 days before something even becomes a habit. Let me speak from experience and say that it worked and that alarm is still set to this day, two years later. So every night I sat down on the floor in the middle of...

Fav Bible Verses

As a pastor's kid people ask me all the time "Hallee, what is your favorite Bible verse?" Often times I don't even know what to say. I literally have a running list of bible verses in my phone that just speak to me when I read them. Most of the time though I just spit out the first one that comes to mind because it's probably one I love anyways. My list of my favorite bible verses is what I go to throughout the day when I need a pick me up or just when I need some reassurance. Reading my Bible is my escape from reality. I can open my bible and totally distance myself from whatever is going on in my life at the time and, I feel so much better to tackle life afterward. Reading your bible is so important and one of my personal favorite ways to connect with God. My relationship with God is super important to me and what gets me through life every day. Without my relationship with God I don't think I would be where I'm at now and in the state of contempt and ha...
